ABOUT
Bohdana Kurylo is a PhD candidate at University College London, the School of Slavonic and East European Studies. Contributing to Security Studies and International Relations, her research investigates the role of civil society in security politics, focusing on the Ukraine crisis and the European refugee crisis. Bohdana is a recipient of the Victor and Rita Swoboda Memorial Scholarship and the Overseas Research Scholarship. She holds an MSc in Political Theory from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a BA (Hons) in History and Politics from Queen Mary, University of London.
Her previous research projects concerned the topics of the Ukrainian diaspora, theories of power, global governance and the impact of technology on political participation. Her papers have appeared in a number of peer-reviewed journals, such as Journal of Political Power, Palgrave Communications, European Political Science, Security Dialogue and Journal of Consumer Culture.
In addition to her studies, Bohdana has been involved in non-profit projects organised by the Nobel Women’s Initiative, Leo Baeck Institute and Small Charities Coalition.
