Ukraine Democracy Initiative in partnership with Sydney Democracy Network has launched a series of talks at University of Sydney – “We need to talk about Ukraine”. Prof. Lucan Way (University of Toronto) is the first speaker in the series. Prof. Lucan Way talks on the topic “Pluralism by Default: weak autocrats and the rise of competitive politics in Ukraine and the rest of the former Soviet Union”. His research primarily deals with the democratic transition and the evolution of authoritarianism in the former Soviet Union.
