ABOUT
Olena is Lecturer at the Department of History, Chair for East European History in Bochum Ruhr University. Olena Petrenko, born 1980 in Ternopil, Ukraine. Studied in Kyiv and Bochum. Fellow of Research School, Ruhr University Bochum. Obtained her Phd 2015 at the Ruhr University on the topic of female contribution to the armed Ukrainian nationalistic underground in the 1930s-1950s. She has received scholarships and grants from the Research School of Ruhr University Bochum, Wilhelm and Günter Esser Foundation, GHl in Warsaw, GHI in Moscow, DAAD and Petro Jacyk Foundation. Area of academic expertise: Gender studies, history of WW2, nationalism studies.
