ABOUT
Prof. Marko Pavlyshyn is the convenor of Ukrainian Studies in Monash University’s School of Languages, Literatures, Cultures and Linguistics and the director of the Monash European and EU Centre. He was the founding President of the Ukrainian Studies Association of Australia. In 1998-2003 he was President of the Australia and New Zealand Slavists’ Association. He is a Fellow of the Australian Academy of the Humanities.
His research specialisations and preferred areas for higher degree supervision include modern and contemporary Ukrainian literature, post-colonial approaches to the study of Slavic literatures and cultures, and issues of culture and national identity. He is the author of Ol’ha Kobylianska: Interpretations (Kharkiv, 2008), Canon and Iconostasis (Kyiv, 1997), and more than 80 chapters in books and articles in scholarly journals.
