Mass immigration, a refugee crisis, more active LGBT communities and secularism – it is safe to say that in comparison to some decades ago tolerance is being accepted as the foundation of a more globalized pluralistic society. It is no doubt considered a social value However can it be accepted as a legal value? Are non discrimination laws an indicator that tolerance already has been accepted as an element of the rule of law or are they an indicator of exceptional acceptance under a framework of very strict circumstances?
